PROJECT 1
Famous Architect’s building
Materials Application: Architectural and Structural
This project needs us to select a well-known architect and his works, as well as identify 5 architectural materials and 2 structural building components. We are to analyze the material application and relate it to the building's design. The results of this experiment allow us to better understand the applications of various materials. The architecture I've chosen is Architect Kenzo Tange's St. Mary Cathedral in Tokyo.
SELF REFLECTION
I have a better understanding of the differences between architectural and structural materials after finishing this project. In addition to the function and application, such as how those architects utilise in their building or structure for a specific aesthetic purpose.
PROJECT 2
Construction Detailing of Building Elements
In group of 8 , we were requires to demonstrate our understanding of building construction through conventional drawings. As the project brief mentioned, we will need to find a terrace house with double storey to perform the construction drawing. The drawings will include floor plan, elevation, section, section from floor to roof, detailing of windows, doors, windows, staircase and also need to construct a physical model (floor with wall).

SELF REFLECTION
After completing this project, I better understand how construction drawings are created and have a good handle of the detail drawings of a double-story terrace house in Malaysia. In addition, I learnt about the tectonics of materials and how they apply to houses. In terms of time management, I still have terrible discipline, but in the end, my member and I manage to finish it on time.
