Project 1A
Site Analysis & Design Response
USJ Urban Farm
Our task is to gain understanding of the intervention's context. Students will visit the site in their designated tutorial groups to determine the tangible and intangible elements that contribute to the site's distinct character. By interacting with site visitors, the requirements of the local community will be determined. In order to create a new plan for the marked site area, students will construct a Kebun Komuniti Plan in their tutorial groups as the construct Response of the Site Analysis stage.

The Master Plan
“They rustle over the forest floor with selipar jamban, with keen eyes scanning the trees for signs of ripe fruit, while the little one’s curiosity is sated with the uncharted flora.”
“As they collect, the mother’s paranoia of their child wandering off is contained through deliberate education of traditional horticultural knowledge to their children, passing down ancient knowledge about nenek moyang’s ways back in the day. They teach them about the different types of fruits, herbs and their medicinal properties, and the best ways to prepare them.”

Reflection
This project is really interesting since it calls for us to perform a site visit, and the outcomes will serve as a basis for our masterplan design. Collaboration among team members and a continuous flow of ideas to enhance the project's plan for the community's benefit are essential.
